Self-Employment Programs - YMCA The New Ventures Network
Downtown information sessions take place Tuesday at 2:30 from May 20 through July 15, 2008. How Does The Program Work?The program begins with a 10-week full time classroom session focusing on practical business plan development. We provide you with access to a network of motivated people, office space and services, business launch support, and computers. There is financial support for 48 weeks. Each participant must be willing to commit personal equity into the business. The Training ProgramThis program provides the facilities, experienced instructors, and guidance for motivated new entrepreneurs. You bring a good idea, the energy and desire to develop a plan and start a business along with the experience or transferable skills necessary; we help you to make it happen. Who May Apply?The next intake is for people who either have an active IE claim, have had one in the last 3 years, or who have had a maternity claim that started within the last 5 years and have not worked since. Application and Selection ProcessDowntown information sessions take place Tuesday at 2:30 from May 20 through July 15, 2008. Selection CriteriaAll applications are reviewed. Those who have demonstrated market viability, possess critical resources, relevant experience, a desire to succeed and urgency are accepted into the SE Program. When are the Programs Offered?Our next program start date is August 18, 2008. The cut-off for submissions is July 18, 2008. |
